Half-Court
Hoops was
initially formed in 1997 and provided basketball skill training on a backyard
court. The business was expanded by creating interactive skill workouts
on CD that have been sold internationally over the internet.
We are excited about the growth of our company and the
impact on the sport of basketball. We currently offer a high level
of Skill Training for individuals and teams, Coach's Consulting and a Team
Unity & Motivation Program.

Coach Laurie
Pirtle is the former University of
Cincinnati Women's Basketball Coach. She recently retired as the
head coach for 21 years with a very successful career. Laurie has
nearly 400 career wins, 8 Post Season Appearances in the last decade, 3 All-Americans, many
players playing professionally, and various Coach of the Year Honors.
She was also inducted into the Greater Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame
in 2002. During her career at the University of Cincinnati, Laurie
was also appointed as the Senior Woman Administrator, served on the NCAA
Certification Committee, and the Gender Equity Committee.
Laurie
is also responsible for building the foundation of the Capital University
Basketball Program. In just four years as the head coach, she took
her team to the Division III Final Four, won two
conference championships, received many Coach of the Year Honors, had a 31-game winning
streak, and overall record 83-16.
Laurie
currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Greater Cincinnati
Sports Corp and she is one of the founding members of the Greater
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Women's Sports Association.
Laurie
received her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and a Master's Degree
in Physical Education with a concentration in Sports Management from the
Ohio State University.

Mindy
Shonk founded Half-Court Hoops LLC
in 1997 to provide individual skill training for kids on a backyard court.
It was an immediate success as there was much demand for training players
on individual skills. Mindy grew up playing the game of basketball
and wanted to share her knowledge and experience. She is an alumni
of Capital University where she had a successful 4-year career as her team
reached the Final Four. Mindy was an all-conference and all-academic
player who loves competition and the game of basketball.
A
native of Lancaster, Ohio, Mindy has a Bachelors Degree from Capital
University. She received her Master's Degree from the Capital
University Law School. Mindy is a Certified Public Accountant and
was a Senior Manager with an international public accounting firm where
she was responsible for managing staff, public speaking, and training
seminars. She continues to manage her own CPA practice.
